We aim to provide excellent insurance advice and support to our customers, especially at claim time, when you need us the most.

Anna Dunlop-Paaka, Financial Adviser

Anna Dunlop-Paaka
Financial Advisor

Anna moved to Taranaki with her young family in 2019 to take over the family business. Finding her feet in the insurance world, she soon became registered as a Financial Adviser and set about working with Gary Dunlop to get to know all their clients. Anna can advise on any area of insurance and especially enjoys seeing local businesses, like hers, succeed.
Anna is very focused on providing the best possible service and support to her clients and is always keen to help. Anna is very proud to be a 3rd generation insurance adviser, carrying on the family business from her Grandad, John Carrington.
Anna loves to spend time reading, playing with the kids, going to the gym, and socialising with family and friends. She’s also a very keen traveller, having been to around 15 countries so far with her husband and kids.

Gary Dunlop, Financial Adviser

Gary has been an insurance adviser since 1987. What he doesn’t know about insurance, isn’t worth knowing! Originally taking over life insurance policies from his Father-in-law, Gary began to expand the business to the farming, home and contents and business markets. Over time, these areas expanded and now makeup three quarters of the business, with a strong focus on rural policies, following on from Gary’s years as a Dairy farmer.
Gary has had some wonderful success over the years achieving coveted awards with AMP as National Sales Champion, Adviser of the Year (twice) and Adviser Business of the Year. Gary is especially proud of the 3rd and 4th generation clients we service, having always had a business built on strong family values.
Gary is a Financial Adviser for all areas of insurance as well as investments and KiwiSaver. His main focus is on renewals advice and claims oversight, always ensuring clients are kept at the forefront of every action.
If you need him, you’ll find Gary on the golf course, or out and about with the grandkids. Not one to sit around he also finds time to cycle, read, garden and renovate.

Clair Dawson, Financial Adviser

Claire has worked at Dunlop Insurance since 2017 and just as she was finding her feet, Gary had a road cycle accident that left Claire in charge while he recovered. This baptism by fire gave Claire the superb skills she has today to think on her feet, find the answers she needs, and get the work done. Claire has completed her study and is now a qualified Financial Adviser in the General Insurance field. This includes Home, Contents, Vehicles, Business, Rural and Travel policies.
Claire always advocates for her clients, wanting the very best outcome possible for the cover, renewal, or claim. She has a great track record with getting claims paid and treats every renewal and claim as if it were her own.
When she’s not busy at her desk, Claire enjoys nothing more than riding horses with her daughter. These days, she’s often the truck driver, stable hand and groomer, but she still gets plenty of rides in and enjoys helping on the committee as well. Claire loves the peace and quiet of their lifestyle block on the outskirts of Hawera, and has a small menagerie of animals to care for there.

Piper Jones, Administration Assistant

Piper started with Dunlop Insurance in 2022 in a fixed term position scanning paper records into digital ones. With a little more insight into the insurance world, Piper was happy to accept a permanent role as an Administrator for the busy team. Piper is responsible for renewals, policy changes, insurer reconciliations and quotes for all our domestic policies. She also takes care of some of the vehicle and contents claims we receive. She works closely with Lynley and Claire to make sure our clients have their requested cover in place, policies are accurate and up-to-date and claims are managed effectively.
Piper came to work at Dunlop Insurance after meeting Anna at the gym. Aside from her cross-fit, which takes her around the country at times, Piper enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Melissa Wisnewski
Life, Health & Income Assistant

Melissa is a very familiar face at Dunlop Insurance, having started back in 2007. Melissa is responsible for all administration, quotes and policy management for our Personal Risk and Investment policies. These include life, health, income protection and trauma insurance, as well as investments and KiwiSaver.
Melissa is a wealth of knowledge and a very efficient operator. Always on top of her tasks, you can be sure she’ll follow up the insurance companies until an action is complete.
Outside of work, Melissa keeps busy running after her boys who play every sport possible. She also finds time to walk their dog, garden and keep the house in order. Your typical working SuperMum.

Lynley Towers Office Support Assistant

Lynley started working for Dunlop Insurance in 2011. Coming from a Legal Admin position, Lynley has a keen eye for detail and process, and is great at keeping everything streamlined and accurate. Lynley has a wide range of roles, from business and farm renewals to mail processing and many things in between. Lynley is great at tracking down a rogue payment or having a change corrected. She’s always happy to help with a friendly smile.
On her days off, Lynley enjoys trips in their caravan, volunteering for local organisations, getting into her craft room or catching up with friends. Lynley is also very close with her family and is a keen supporter when her grandson has any school or sports events on.
